Dementia humor doesn't show up for work everyday (slacker), but looking back on daily texts can bring a smile to my caustic countenance. That is, well after the murderous rage has dissipated.
Hahahaha! Gaffer tape! I never thought of that. I'm guessing there's times when our moms would like to use gaffer tape on us too. ;)

Oh Cheryl so glad you can laugh at the absurdities of it too. I would also be interested to know what the neurologist thinks define end stages? I'm terrified it's going to be a 10 year journey although as Mum is already unable to walk I suspect not. I'm a big fan of Teepa Snow and her gems model shows that variability and stages can be blurry. My brothers solution for the current spitting (in anger/frustration) issue is gaffer tape. (no we daren't implement it in real life)

Oh my, Cheryl, your profile pic doesn't look like someone who would be out clowning in the street with a gun, but I guess it goes to show you... you never can tell!
Welcome to Stumped Town! We're pretty perplexed over here most of the time too, while we try to keep ahead of Mom's dementia. Or at least not too far behind. ;) I'm glad to have given you a belly laugh when you needed it. I think you'll find a lot more here, as well as the rough and tumble when we've been slogging through the tragic. I bet you know exactly how that feels.
I'm hoping you can teach us too - the neurologist can tell you…

Hello ladies. I have no idea how I stumbled upon your blog but I'm glad I did. My friends and coworkers keep telling me that I should write all this stuff down because it is just way too hilarious. I just read your text about "killing" your mom and fleeing to Mexico. I'm at work and it took everything I had not to burst out with a good belly laugh. That was way too funny. I needed the laugh today. I took my mom to the neurologist and received the news that I knew I "needed" to hear but didn't "want" to hear, mom is now in end stage dementia. Yes I cried and cried until I could r…

Tracy! Hahahahaha! Uh, I've had a hard time finding a giggle these days, but you just made me snort a little! Thank you!
